Fighting Sioux no more?

I don't have all of the details as I just heard the brief story, but Fox 9 News reported that the University of North Dakota is ending its fight to keep the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo. Hopefully there is an 'out' attached to this story, but if true, how sad it will be. I suspect that a payoff is and always was on the table but it would appear that the university is not willing to play any longer, which I cannot fault them for that. Some advice to our WCHA friends up the way, forget about it and keep the name...step on toes and do what is right. The 'political correctness' in our society has gone way too far and there is no end in sight. Do you think that the Irish will now target Notre Dame? Very doubtful but I suppose that if in the end there was a buck to be made, anything is possible.
